Several months ago, the Clarksville Gas Department began natural gas distribution system maintenance and service line upgrades in the Welchview subdivision. Extremely wet conditions curtailed the work and more recently, the limited operations in response to COVID-19 affected the work schedule. At this time, the work will resume on or near June 1, 2020 with completion anticipated within 30 days from commencement.
The Gas Department intends to perform the work as quickly and efficiently as possible to limit gas service disruption. Technicians will turn gas service back on within a matter of a few hours in most instances after service line replacement. Yard repairs will be done, including sod where needed, after the system work is complete. As previously communicated, there is no cost to Welchview residents or property owners because the work is deemed as system maintenance.
