GAS & WATER FURTHER LIMITS ACCESS TO FACILITIES TO LOWER RISK OF WORKPLACE EXPOSURE OR SPREADING OF CORONAVIRUS
Gas & Water will not turn off services on past due accounts nor will late fees or penalties be applied to past due accounts while facilities are closed.
Effective at 8 a.m. Friday, March 20, Gas & Water will close the Madison Street administration and engineering lobby. Customer service centers and the water and wastewater treatment plants were closed to the public on March 16 and will remain closed during the state of emergency declared by local, state and federal authorities.
Gas & Water’s goal is to limit employee-to-employee and customer contact while continuing to safely provide essential utility services.
Limited customer service operations will be conducted from 8 a,m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Call (931) 645-7400 on Tuesday or Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for new water and gas service connections or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Madison Street drive-through window service is only available to contractor document drop off and pick up.

Customers wishing to establish service can either call the main office during normal business hours at 931-645-7400 and follow the interactive voice instructions or stay on the line to speak to a Customer Service Representative.
Customers may also visit either one of our convenient full-service customer service centers to complete an application for service. For your convenience or to save time you may complete and print a new service and credit application form, shown below, prior to visiting a service center.

A service fee and security deposit for each applicable service will be charged. For qualifying new residential customers, a credit check can be used to determine the amount of the deposit. A fee for the credit check will be added to the customer's first bill. If a new customer calls after normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and requests services be activated after hours, an after-hours fee will be added to any amounts due. Customers whose services are turned on after hours must call 931-645-7400 the next business day and speak to a Customer Service Representative to pay all service fees and deposits by phone with a credit card or they can visit either one of our two service centers to pay before close of business to avoid deactivation of service and additional charges.
